Defibrillators & Bleed Kits

EDefibrillators are life-saving devices and we are proud that both internal and external defibrillators are installed and are regularly maintained across the Astmoor and Halebank estates.

Across the two estates, there are currently:

  • Astmoor: 3 Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) and 7 internal defibrillators

  • Halebank: 2 Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) and 5 internal defibrillators

Each External PAD also includes a bleed kit.

Our network of 17 defibrillators greatly improves emergency readiness for businesses and the local community.

Studies show that the immediate delivery of CPR, combined with the early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), gives the best chance of survival for someone experiencing cardiac arrest. By placing both internal and external units strategically across our estates, we’re ensuring fast access to life-saving support when it matters most.

We hope BID businesses feel more confident and reassured knowing these devices are nearby. The external PADs also mean the wider public and local community can access defibrillators 24/7 in case of an emergency.

To help everyone feel prepared to act quickly and confidently, we encourage BID businesses to take advantage of our funded training courses, including:

  • Defibrillator AED Level 2 (VTQ) – A practical half-day course focused on AED use

  • Emergency First Aid at Work – A one-day course covering essential first aid, including AED training.

  • Both courses offer hands-on experience and reinforce the importance of prompt response in emergency situations.

Publicly Accessible Defibrillators (PADs)

There are three external PADs, located on the outside of the following buildings:

  • WHS Plastics, Arkwright Road

  • PDR Electrical, Dalton Court, Davy Road

  • Novah Ltd, Jensen Court

Internal Defibrillators

There are seven internal defibrillators located at:

  • Kenay Ltd, Brindley Road

  • Alma Products Ltd, Brindley Road

  • J Brand Ltd, Brindley Road

  • James Troop Ltd, Davy Road

  • Knitwire, Maspro House, Chadwick Road

  • McNamara Sports Bar, Arkwright Road

  • Arven Chemicals, Goddard Road

Halebank

Publicly Accessible Defibrillators (PADs)

There are two external PADs, both located on lampposts:

  • Outside Roberts Recycling, Pickerings Road

  • At the top of Mersey View Road, outside Mersey Vent Ltd

Internal Defibrillators

There are five internal defibrillators located at:

  • Widnes Scania, Pickerings Road

  • Acer Engineering, Pickerings Road

  • GSH Ltd, Pickerings Road

  • Hough Green Garage, Pickerings Road

  • Gate House, Widnes Business Park

Additional Access

Expert Technologies Group, based on Foundry Lane, has advised that its defibrillator is available for public use during normal working hours.
