A large-scale emergency response was deployed to Astmoor Industrial Estate on the morning of Tuesday, 13th May, following a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus. The impact caused the bus to crash into the Kerry Ingredients building.
Emergency services attended the scene and we are pleased to report that no injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
In response, the BID team has worked closely with the local authority to explore measures to improve safety in the area. As a result, the following actions have been agreed:
- Foliage will be cut back to improve visibility.
- The faded SLOW road marking and rumble strips on the westbound approach will be refreshed.
- Three heavy-duty Enviropol type bollards will be installed at the collision site along the busway to protect the Kerry Ingredients building.
