We’re delighted that three, publicly accessible lockable cabinets with defibrillators and bleed kits have been installed on Astmoor. The advantage of these over the defibrillators we already have on the estate, is that they can be accessed at any time, day, or night by anyone. Studies have confirmed that immediate delivery of CPR combined with the early use of an automated external defibrillator gives a person in cardiac arrest the best chance of survival. The units are located at 3 strategic points on the estate, and we want to thank Electron Technical Solutions Ltd (Arkwright Road) PDR Electrical (Dalton Court and Novah Ltd (Jensen Court) for hosting the units. Additional Signage We are now looking at additional signage to ensure that the units can easily be found in an emergency. All three units have been registered on The Circuit, which is the national defibrillator network, connecting defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK so that in those crucial moments after a cardiac arrest, they can be accessed quickly to help save lives.
