The Mayor’s Young Person’s Guarantee commits a job, training or apprenticeship opportunity to every young person out of work for more than six months
You can use the Young Persons Guarantee grant if you are creating a paid job for a young person aged 18-24yrs of age who are currently unemployed or economically inactive. The job must be paid at the relevant national minimum wage or above and be for at least 16hrs+ per week. The job must be likely to last for a minimum of 26wks when appointing to the role to be able to claim the maximum grant amount available (£3,000).
Each young person must be paid at least the national minimum wage for their age for at least 16 hours per week. Below are the minimum wage rates by age:
